My parents are way too young to be actual hippies but I don't recall a Fourth of July that hasn't ended with Jimi Hendrix's version of the Star Spangled Banner.
So it's no surprise that they offered to host my cousin Michele's 40th birthday party, which just happened to also be a celebration of Woodstock's anniversary as well.
Result: Costume parties are awesome. I've been left wondering why wasn't I at Woodstock? And I have now watched every single piece of TV that has featured Woodstock in the past few days and I honestly feel like a better person because of it.
